To date, SCARS has rescued and rehomed over 3500 animals.

Because these animals live in our homes, we develop a very deep bond with our fosters. Many of the adoptive families keep us updated on how well their new companions are thriving in their new homes.

Gaia (formerly Autumn) August 2010 - When I adopted Gaia in March, I can still remember how timid, shy and fearful she was about everything. Upon leaving her foster home, she crawled into the deepest snow bank in their front yard and refused to move. It took about 5 minutes of gentle coaxing to get her to finally come home with me.
