About Us

Our Mission:

To promote the humane care and protection of all animals and to prevent cruelty and suffering.

The Second Chance Animal Rescue Society is dedicated to reducing the number of homeless and abandoned animals in Northern Alberta..

We believe that there is a suitable home for all homeless animals, young or old.

As a volunteer-run, non-profit society, we care for homeless and abandoned animals. We  provide veterinary care and foster homes for animals in need until a permanent home is found. Our private foster homes provide the animals with warm shelter, food, exercise, and tender loving care (something that so many of the animals we receive have never experienced).

We also work to promote responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying and neutering, and community awareness.

Our society does not currently receive funding; therefore, we rely solely on money that is raised through memberships, donations, sponsorships and other fundraising efforts. Because we have no paid staff and use private homes for fostering, we can only take in as many animals as our resources will allow.
